So Difficult to get a Good Maid
Wow, this is the first time I’ve had to get my own maid as all the others we’ve had has been on a referral basis. My goodness, it’s like a task for a project manager! Going into Bukit Timah Shopping Centre almost rocked me to my core. It’s my first time there and I cannot believe the number of maid agencies. I mean, how do you choose?
It’s funny too how they train them, i.e., they give them a book. Can they read? Most of them are just staring blankly, you can tell. Some are mopping the same 3 sqm of floor over and over again. How can you tell if they are doing it right since that 3 sqm is so clean already! Shouldn’t they be put to more productive use like going to clean actual houses as apprentice or something? Or is that illegal?
Anyway, I was so overwhelmed I decided not to go to any agency and went to have lunch instead at the Japanese restaurant in the basement which isn’t half bad. There were some kids breakdancing- or trying to, outside. Most of what they were doing was pressing their face against the floor- which I hope some of the maids have gone to clean otherwise they will definitely be getting blackheads and pimples with all the floor smooching.
