Seriously, we were having this discussion around the dinner table today after practically a whole day of shopping. Why do people buy cheap shoes when they hurt? It’s fine to buy cheap shoes, but why buy them thinking that because they’re only shoes you shouldn’t pay more than $50 for them?

Your feet are abused day in and out. When you wear your shoes, they need not only be durable, but comfortable and good for your feet. What is $100 when it spells comfort, relief and even good health … for many months to come! Not all expensive shoes are healthy shoes, many of them are harmful. What I am arguing for here is that a good pair of shoes- even if it costs $100, is not expensive if you really think about it.

A cheap pair of shoes that causes agony on the other hand- is too costly. Think about it.

People who don’t have a lot of money think that rich people are very stingy.  They are right.  We are tight with our money and that is why we are rich.   We always want to get the best of everything at the cheapest price.  But of course, when it comes to spending for the very best and it accords status and exclusivity, money suddenly becomes no object.

This shouldn’t be a surprise.  Everyday, people are still bewildered, thinking there is something not logical in all this but its perfectly logical.  Just like our gas prices.

Can’t afford, stop whining and ride bike lah!

The gentle giant has since passed away but his music is still here for posterity to enjoy.  Below is Israel’s medly of Somewhere over the Rainbow and A Wonderful World, his biggest hit song.  He was a really big man weighing in at over 700 pounds so the tiny little ukelele in front of him makes it that much cuter.  It’s his voice though that is incredible and this version he created, his genius.  Too bad he’s gone.
